        Parishioners and their families are cordially invited to commemorate the feastday of our Parish Patron Saint at a special Mass and Social.The cemetery will be festively adorned with lots of summer flowers. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs for casual seating around the altar. The Mass music will be led by St. James Choir, and afterward, everyone is invited to stay and mingle at a social with light refreshments.

    Bishop Frank Dewane   

         Francis Joseph Dewane was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on March 9, 1950, the third of four children born to Eleanor and Ben Dewane, devout Irish-Catholics who owned and operated a dairy farm. St. James Parish in Cooperstown, was the center of community life for the Dewane’s, and their children attended grade school there. To continue readfing click the link to the right.

    Who Was St. James the Greater?

         St. James Church in Cooperstown was dedicated in 1871 to St. James the Greater, an Apostle of Jesus'. Previously, since it's founding in 1850, the church was named after the Blessed Mother and served from Manitowoc Rapids.

    2021 Feast Day Celebration

         In 2021, under the leadership of Father Santiago Touriano, a parish celebration was held to honor St. James on his feastday, July 25. This celebration was held at the altar in the cemetery.
