Community Cupboard

  •      The Denmark Community Cupboard works throughout the Denmark and Maribel communities to help neighbors in need. It is made possible through the generosity of other neighbors and organizations who donate their time, money, and food. In recent years, the Cupboard was reorganized under the care of Denmark area churches, including St. James. They work with neighbors in need to help fill a gap that many families face. Their philosophy is that families should not have to make the decision between paying for groceries or for rent, transportation, or utilities.
They also work with the local school district to ensure children have access to nutritious food on the weekends throughout the school year. Keeping our children healthy means that they will be more receptive to their education.
St. James has a cupboard in the back entrance of church, where non-perishable foods and other household or toiletry needs may be dropped off at any time. Additionally, many seasonal drives are held to support the pantry. If you are in need of food, please do not hesitate to contact the Community Cupboard of Denmark.
