Safe Environment

  • By working together, we can help prevent incidents from occurring and ensure the safety and security of those in our parish and school communities. There are three requirements for adults who volunteer with children:

    1. Complete a Volunteer Application Form on-line at the Electronic Application Data Base (eAppsDB). The application asks you to provide information about yourself, provide professional and personal references, authorize a criminal background check, and complete a declaration form stating that you agree with organizational policies. Click on the link to the left to access the website for eAppsDB. It is submitted on-line.
    2. Attend an online class called Virtus. Use the link on the left for the website where you will need to create an account with a login and password. After viewing the presentation, you will be able to print a certificate. Please do so and submit it to the church office.
    3. Agree to follow the Diocesan Code of Pastoral Conduct for Volunteers. This leaflet outlines behavioral rules and guidelines that are expected of all volunteers in the parish. Access it by clicking the link on the left. After reading it, sign and date it and then return the signed portion to the parish office.
  • Reporting Abuse

Awareity is a comprehensive platform for reporting, tracking, and documenting incidents and concerns, making it simple and confidential to share red flag behaviors such as: sexual abuse of a minor (if this is currently taking place, immediately call 911 to report), harassment, boundary issues, threats of violence, and concerning behavior by clergy, staff, or volunteers.

The goal of Awareity is to prevent and help identify red flags and warning signs before an incident occurs or escalates. The green butterfly above will take you to the Reporting Site.
