We’re so glad you’ve found your way here to St. James Catholic Church in Cooperstown. At St. James, we believe that church is more than just a building—it is a family where everyone has a place and is truly valued. No matter where you are on your faith journey—whether you are just beginning to explore faith, returning after some time away, or searching for a new church community—you are warmly welcomed just as you are.

Our website offers a comprehensive overview of our parish life. Here, you’ll find details about our various ministries, introductions to our dedicated staff, photographs capturing the vibrancy of our parish activities, an account of our rich parish history, and much more to help you get acquainted with St. James.

Since our humble beginnings in 1850, we have been steadfast in our commitment to serving the people of Denmark and Maribel. St. James is recognized for its hospitality and friendliness, traits that are especially evident during our Sunday morning Masses. Our members are actively involved not only within the church but also throughout the community, volunteering with organizations such as the Knights of Columbus, local Lions Clubs, and Denmark Connects. We are also dedicated to nurturing the next generation in their faith. Through our Faith Formation program, we strive to equip our children and youth with a growing and contagious relationship with Jesus Christ.

We invite you to join us for worship and experience the joy of walking with Jesus in the company of others. Come as you are, and let’s journey together in faith, hope, and love.
